With Kansas State wearing their throwback lavender uniforms the Cats put on a show. Bramlage was rocking from the the very the Cats and fans could not have asked for a better start. Jumping out to a 15-0 lead, they could not miss a shot. The same could not have been said for the woeful Okie St, as they could not hit water if they fell out of a boat. This was by far the best offensive performance of the year and another great defensive performance. There may have been a little worry by the fan base if KSU would show any signs of a look ahead to KU Monday night. That was put to bed within the first few minutes. With the cats winning by 39, 85-46 they were able to give some rest to the starters in the second half. All eyes turned to the match up Monday night in Allen Field house.

The biggest surprise of the day was KU suffering the second worst loss in the Bill Self era 92-61 to Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX. The Red Raiders finished with 16 baskets from behind the arc at 61%. The Hawks woes continued on the road, as now all seven losses have come away from home. All the KU flags in Johnson County are at half mast, with even a few of those college basketball only fans throwing in the towel and asking for Bill Self to be fired. All you can do is laugh at the T-Shirt wearing fans, maybe they still have the receipt from Wal-Mart and can make a return.

The Sunflower showdown will have the spotlight on Big Monday and KSU will try to win for the first time since 2006. Best known as the Neck Brace game staring Jim Wooldridge, The cats are looking to stay one game up on Texas Tech and move three games ahead of Kansas and with a win by Kansas they will jump to only one game back of Kansas State. Kansas will probably come out pissed off and ready to play. Kansas State has to play as if they are starting down 5 and not let the fans, refs or excuses get into their heads. The seniors have a few more boxes to check and being the first team to beat KU in Allen since 2006 is certainly one of them. The atmosphere will be terrific, as all Big 12 eyes will be set on this game.
